Nurse Manager Psych Full Time Days

Summary

Coordinates and guides nursing activities on the inpatient care unit. Has a 24 hour responsibility for patient care unit. Sets standards of care for nursing based on established nursing practice. Acts as a role model through clinical practice. Collaborates effectively with other professionals. Evaluates performance of the nursing staff. Directs staffing activities for assigned units on a 24 hour basis. Under the direction of the director for Behavioral Health Services assumes budgetary responsibilities. Directs quality improvement and research related activities. Fosters professional growth of staff, supports Behavioral Health Services Department administrative philosophy. Pursues opportunities for personal development. Promotes communication and teamwork among the Behavioral Health Department Team.

Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)

Graduate from an approved nursing educational program as defined by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), BSN degree strongly recommended.

5 or more years of clinical experience including Assistant Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse experience.

Current Florida Nursing License.

American Heart Association BLS certificate.

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
