The Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) is focused upon the full implementation of VA's National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide (2018) and the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense (VA/DoD) Clinical Practice Guideline for Assessment and Management of Patients at Risk for Suicide. SPP leads the implementation of VA's public health approach to suicide prevention (SP 2.0) which encompasses both community-based prevention strategies and clinically based interventions. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
