Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide safe and effective medical care to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center patients. Follows care guideline and treatment protocols for infant; children and adolescent patients and to aid in their mental and physical growth and development. Participates in all department/division activities and initiatives. Maintains good standing in the department.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care
Primary responsibilities will be to provide outpatient behavioral intervention services with children and adolescents seen within developmental and behavioral pediatric and neurobehavioral clinics presenting with mild to moderate/severe intensity behaviors. This position will involve multidisciplinary collaboration including psychiatry, nursing, developmental and behavioral pediatrics, social work and behavioral health specialists. This position will offer some opportunities to bridge the gap between children stepping down from the neurobehavioral inpatient unit and/or those requiring additional moderate treatment services after completing other moderate intensity behavior treatment programs (BIBT) though most of the case load will include providing outpatient behavioral intervention services to those children presenting with mild intensity behavior concerns and/or anxiety/mood symptoms with co-occurring developmental delays.
Effective Communication Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.
Development of Clinical Excellence Actively participates in department/division and system learner training and educational programs. Maintains currency in field through continuing education, literature and seminars.
Policy Compliance Maintains good standing in the department by compliance to licensure and credentialing criteria. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Follow Cincinnati Children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions and actions regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge and billing. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
Doctor of Philosophy OR Doctor of Psychology OR Equivalent Degree
Unrestricted licensed Psychologist in the State of Ohio
Approval/credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division
